Navarre Anderson Trading Post

The Navarre Anderson Trading Post is located on North Custer Road at the intersection with Raisinville Road.

It is located near the converted school house now known as the Country Store.

On weekends in October the trading post and surrounding area hosts Lantern Tours taking visitors back in time to the early days in the county.

Monroe County Historical Museum

The Monroe County Historical Museum is located at the intersection of Second and Monroe Streets in the heart of downtown Monroe.

The museum features many pieces of local memorabilia, including many of General Custer's items.

The museum's hours are: Sundays 12:00 to 5:00 PM and Monday through Saturday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Johnson Phinney Building

The Johnson Phinney Building is located at the intersection of West Second and Cass Streets in downtown Monroe, immediately behind the Historical Museum.

There are no tours of the building as it houses offices on the main level.

Sawyer House

The Sawyer House is located at 320 East Front Street at the intersection of East Front and Wadsworth Streets, just east of the downtown shopping district.  

The house has a commanding view of the river and has a widow's peak on top and the exterior walls have quoins.  While the architecture is not unique, it is distinctive.

There are rental rooms for different functions and several local festivals have been staged there.
